Not all decks are created equal. Here's every major Guess It! category ranked from friendliest to most brutal, with the question that cracks each one open.
Tier 1 — friendly openers
Animals. The classic. Cracks open with "Is it a pet?" then size questions. Great for kids and warm-ups.
Food & fruits. "Is it sweet?" does enormous work. Watch for trick cards that are both (mango chutney, we see you).
Tier 2 — the thinking decks
Sports. "Ball or no ball?" then team vs. solo. Niche sports (curling, fencing) are streak-killers.
Jobs & objects. Concrete but wide; lean hard on the size-and-place question tree.
Tier 3 — specialist territory
Flags & countries. A geography duel. Split by continent first, then colors. The deck where rematches get personal.
Pokémon. Either you've spent twenty years on this or you're guessing in the dark — type questions ("Is it a fire type?") are your only lifeline. The ultimate handicap pick against a superfan.
Picking decks like a strategist
In friendly games, pick the deck the table loves. In competitive 1v1, pick your deepest specialty — category knowledge is the biggest edge in the game, bigger than question technique (tip #4). The daily challenge rotates decks, which is exactly why it builds well-rounded players.
